Tanzania experience in undertaking road safety audits of road network
In this talk, George Daffa will present the legal aspects of road safety audit (RSA) and how it was introduced in Tanzania. He will shortly explain the principles and methods of conducting RSA, as well as the challenges and how to address them in Tanzanian conditions.
About the speaker
George Daffa is a Manager of Road Safety Department from the Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS). He got his degree as a Civil Engineer from the University of Dar es Salaam in 2001. George Daffa has over 22 years of experience in road design and construction. His work focuses on short- and long-term programmes in road safety management, safety audits, identification of accidents blackspots, safety interventions, and training of professionals at national and international levels.
George Daffa has implemented various road safety projects financed by African Development Bank, World Bank, and European Union. He is the coordinator of Establishment of African Regional Centre of Excellence for Road Safety, hosted by the National Institute of Transport, Tanzania.
